about the gauge cluster thing we did something that's awesome on a 95 mustang gt 3v swap we were working on at home we used a 2005 gauge cluster on the 95 it looks way better then the stock one, here are some before-after picture's

Stock

2005 mustang gauges

so my advice is ditch those lame wrangler gauges and put something cool and unique

Maybe something like this would look awesome in your wrangler

If your gonna use autometer gauges then those muscle series gauge's look awesome

yes it's home made my older Brother , Me and my cousin worked on the car .It's a 1995 mustang v6 automatic now it has a t5 manaual transmission and a 2005 mustang gt engine using the 2005 mustang wiring harness,It wasnt vey hard to finish the car the hardest thing was the fuel pump wiring but we got it figured out.now its gonna get painted and get a single turbo soon.

If your gonna work on the car in your home it would be awesome not many people here work on there cars on there own and your gonna learn alot we learned alot of things while doing the swap on the mustang just remember to get some good quality tools

You will need the TAC box, pedal and extension harness. The TAC box is mounted on the firewall.

TAC module has two connections, one for the pedal harness..other hooks into main engine harness this is all you need it should have the 9-pin connector the later ones are 6-pin.

TAC modules have to match up to the year range of the PCM AND the throttle body.

03-05 TAC module works with 03-05 truck TB and 03-05 PCM (BLUE/GREEN connectors)

01-02 TAC module works with 01-02 truck TB, 97-04 Vette TB, and 01-02 PCM (BLUE/RED connectors).

03-05 TAC modules have an aluminum mounting base, 01-02 TAC modules are all black plastic including the mounting base.

So you will need the 03-06 one as well as it's pedal.

Any 2003-2005 GM truck with a LSx should work. The pedal and TAC module. Sorry you need the 9pin one IIR. The 05or06 up are the nine pin ones but they still have the aluminum base so watch out check the pin numbers.

And any 9pin pedal (Vette.GTO. etc) should work it the truck pedal doesn't fit!

Thread is over 3 years old. Lol.. Look on jkowners a couple ppl have done the swap. You cannot use the jeep trans or tcase. If I were going to do it, I'd do a 5.3 with a 4L80e and an Atlas. Then you'd still need to upgrade the axles to 60s to handle the power (if you're actually gonna wheel it). I think the better solution is to stay mopar as you can keep the tranny. That's why the hemi swap is so popular even tho it doesn't make as much power as an lsx swap.

I have an 08 rubicon I was wanting to use an LS1/4l60 I'm wanting to keep all the creature comforts that I can I have read that there are several different wiring harnesses available. From what I have read that painless is one of the less desired ones. I'm hoping yours goes well and I can learn from you how to splice the two harnesses together. Looking forward to updates.
