63 Chevy Truck Project Help
I have a 63 chevy truck and I want to go fuel injected. I wanted to do a supercharged LS2 but when I found out I would be out of close to 12k I had to rethink my inks. Here's what I have been considering:
Just doing a LS2 and dropping it in stock.
Building a LS1 to get some pretty good numbers
Building a LT1
I have never gone with a fuel injected setup and I have sooooo many questions about what to do and what to look out for. If anyone has any knowledge on this subject please please give me some insight thanks
but if really looking for serious hp
drop in a 5.3 and a mpt70, u can use a modified standalone harness and pcm.
can reuse truck intake manifold,tb, fuel rails. and plumb hot parts using stock exhaust manifolds.

around 800$ just on injectors and calibration.

I am thinking about building a older chevy truck soon (advanced design series) I was most likely going to go 5.3L with a turbo setup. You can supposedly get dropout 5.3l complete for around a grand, add a cam, turbo, etc. and you are doing pretty well. Supposedly the weight difference between the iron block 5.3 and the Al block 5.7 or 6.0 is around 80 lbs, and the hp difference isn't that great after some parts and tuning. You will have to find a tuner locally or get mail order tunes I guess. You could also get a tuner and learn yourself but that'd be a steep learning curve for someone not familiar with fuel injection.
The easiest option would be get a LS2 in there and then save up money for upgrades in the future.
Damn dude, that is a bad F'n FOX!! Crazy how much difference wheel and tire make on that car from street to strip!! What are the specs on that LS7?
