Thinking about the 5.3 swap into the 94Z???
Thinking about the 5.3 swap into the 94Z??? Ok so right now i have a rebuilt, full bolt on, camned, stalled and sprayed LT1 that i've built and have had a ton of fuin with it and enjoyed spraying a hand full of times but have been kicking around the idea of a swap since even before i built this engine.. Some questions i have are can i use my stock LT1 cradle, and is there any way i can modify my stock harness to work with a 5.3 LS swap?? I'm not worried about time and i have all the tools i would need.. I know i could probably sell my engine and tranny set up and that would give me a nice chunk to get the engine and possibly a junk t56 that i can build.. Just lookin for some ideas..thanks
you can use your caddle but you have to modify motor mounts.I would just swap out a ls1 craddle thats what i did. Speartec makes a conversion harness. Im in the middle of the swap. It seems never ending. I always need 500 more bucks for parts. I hope its worth it in the end.
If i don't have to get the craddle i would rather modify since it's usually cheaper.. And i read the sticky about the 1500 swaps and thats were i kinda started kicking around the idea agian.. But i need to know if i should just sell my wiring harness with my set up and switch to a ls1 car harness and computer or if i can make mine work properly..thanks

You can buy a crossmember from AJE that will bolt into your camaro that has LS1 motor mounts. I'm not sure about harness? I"m thinking that there might be some differences in sensors between an LT and an LS. Good luck, sounds cool!!
