Default different release bearing

this is a repost from the one i did in "manual transmission"
as i did not get any info i could use.

Guys i'm having some troubles :

are there any non hydraulic throwout bearings lower then the one on the left ?
something like the right one ?
or are all gm v8 throwout bearings the same height ?

i can't use the right one because the diameter of the bearing surface is too small for the T56 ls1 clutch pressureplate

i need a lower one because i'm using a different gearbox and made my own bellhousing

i'm not sure from what car the left one was exactely (some manual sbc), every dimension is correct for my own bell housing, it's just too high

thanks, any help much appreciated..

As I remember from my younger days, the diaphram pressure plates used the longer throw out bearing and the 3 finger Borg & Beck style ones used shorted bearings, since the fingers on the B&B style stuck up much further. Mr. G use to sell an adjustable ball mount to move the fork back and forth

Page down, it lists throwout bearing dimensions and part numbers.

not quite sure how this would help, as only 1 variable will throw off everything.
and i have 4 : self made bellhousing and self made clutchfork in combination with bmw m3 gearbox and special made clutchplate, and self made pivot point...

I just need a shorter bearing, so i can make a special clutchfork that will work with this combination

the long bearing from the picture will not even fit between the gearboxflange and the pressureplate,
I cannot increase the distance between the gearbox and engine, as i would run into problems with pilot bearing and gearboxshaft lenght..

Thanks for the Novak link, it has some dimensions, although i would need some more, eg inner turbe diameter , clutchfork dimension.
I will try to contact mc cleod. allso
