retrofit kit from edelbrock so i just looked on edelbrocks site for a conversion kit and it dont list the kit part # for a 1980 f body? for the headers and adaptor plates
so what is the part number for the headers and adaptor plates? and what motor & frame mounts do i use for the adaptor plates? (so i can get them from JEGS)

The edelbrock header part# is 65073. The plates are 6701. Edelbrock sell a complete kit headers on back with plate part# 6755. This has the 65073 headers and the 6701 plates plus the complete exaust system.Nice but pricey.The frame mounts (narrow and tall ) are available at ecklers camaro part# 718634. Use energy suspension motor mounts, part #3-1117g times two.If running a/c you will have to use a qwick performance top mount a/c braket with a sanden compressor. You could notch the frame and use the stock ls1 compressor, but it not going to work properly anyway.Depending on what transmission your going to use ,you need to start thinking about how the speedo is going to work now.If using the orginal 1980 transmission, no problem.If using late model 4l60 e you will have to buy some kind of adaptor to drive the stock speedo cable. this could affect your crossmember location, thats why you have to address this issue now.I used a jagsthatrun.com setup which changed my mount location and pinion angle.there are other speedo adaptor setups out there but what ever you use , you need to decide now.Trust me ,this is all worth the effort,and you will be very happy with the end result.
