Default Almost ready to crank for the first time - Quesion

All,

I have almost completed the wiring for my conversion and am preparing to crank it over for the first time. Just a few questions though.

The engine (2000 model) was almost new when I got it (12 mi) but hasn't been run since. Should I remove the spark plugs and squirt some oil on the tops of the pistons? What about the injectors? Should I remove and clean them? Also, should I crank the engine over with the starter and the PCM disconnected until the oil pressure comes up, then connect the PCM and fire it up for real? Anything else I'm missing?

Thanks in advance!
Colin

Has anyone cleaned their injectors or should I just fire it up?

Mine set for awile and i just started it. It didnt tap or knock at all. I dont think just cranking the motor is going to be enough to build any oil pressure anyway; probably worse for the motor. You may want to lift your fuel rail and turn the key on(dont turn the motor over) which will make the injectors pump once. After the first pump make sure none are leaking; if one is leaking then it is stuck open or dirty. What kind of swap are you doing?
