1968 camaro radiator and hoses
1968 camaro radiator and hoses ok guys spent a good part of the morning finding hoses to work on my 1968 camaro ls1 swap, this is for those who may need this info in the future. i am running a 1968 aluminum 3 core big block radiator with the outlets as follows, passenger side tube is located at the bottom and is 1 3/4 inches, drivers side tube is located up top and is 1 1/2 inches. the hoses i used for the upper is gates part number 22147, this hose fit perfect to the ls1 and went onto the upper radiator with a little wd40 with the fitment of the curves perfect. as for the lower hose i used gates part number 22437 which fit perfect on the ls1 waterpump and went onto the radiator with a little wd40. the upper hose is 1 1/4 on both ends and the lower hose is 1 1/2 on both ends. i was worried they wouldn't fit on the radiator but with the help of the wd40 it worked perfect, the hose look as if they were made to fit. i will take pictures if anyone needs them. hope this saves someone some time if they decide to use a first gen radiator when doing a ls1 swap.

Hi my name is David and I have the same radiator and thanks for the post it will definatley help. I have already bought my ls1 and it will be here fri day out of 99 camaro with 4l60e. I bought autokraft oil pan hooker headers brackets and mounts I will be running ac and have the bracket from kwik performance. Did you have any problems with the location of your alternator or power steering pumps clearing the subframe and if so what did you do to make it work. Also did you have any problems putting in that steam vent hose into that radiator neck. I dont regularly use this email if you could email me back at roandavid1@hotmail.com

Hmmm... wonder if my LQ4 uses the same hose sizes... I'm going to be using the ebay rad. by entropytec with elec. fans.
Time to do some measuring, because I think with the hoses I bought, I'd need to use an adapter on the radiator.

here are a few updated pictures i want to thank brady for the awesome paint job. the rims are going to be changed once my money gets right and i finish the car, i installed a set of 7 inch halo headlights in the car which you can't see to well in the pictures i think it adds alittle more to the front look of the car and should look good at night.
