spark plug and altenator wiring ?s When wiring the altenator you have a red and brown wire on the car. The altenator has a brown and gray wire. this is a malibu 80 and has a 6.0 motor. What spark plugs do you use when yhou run a carberator.

Tie the brown wire from the alternator to the brown wire that used to go to the malibu alternator. Now tie the gray wire that is hot with the ignition on (IE the wire that used to power the malibu HEI coil).
