Im cranking but it will not start....
Thanks for all the help guys.. I have it cranking and I have tested for volts while cranking but it will still not start. I have added two more grounds from the frame to the motor and on for the wiring harness to the motor. I have power everywhere except to the coils. While I crank the volts goes down to around 10, is this a lack of ground or is this normal? (10 volts in the wiring harness, while cranking) I haven't been able to contact Dynatech yet to ask them if they eliminated the VATS program or not, I believe that they have, but who knows. Is there a way to test to see without a Code reader? Can anyone think of anything that I am missing?
With out the coils getting power you arent getting any spark. It is not VATS if it is cranking. VATS cuts power from the injectors and starter. I wouldnt worry about the drop in volts. Get power to your coils though.
I agree, without VATS, you would not have power to your injectors. But this is not your problem. Sounds like you need to trace the wiring that goes to the coils and look for a ground or disconnected wire.
