My Chassis has shoes!
Wheels and tires arrived yesterday for the wagon project. It is nice to be able to roll it around again!

The wheels are Foose Legends and are 18 X 8 with 4.5" BS on the front and 18 X 9 with 5.25" BS on the rear. The tires are 235 R 40 on the front and 275 R 40 on the rear.
These are very conservative tires and you could easily get 245 0n the front and 295 on the rear, but I did not want to push the envelope. I really wanted to go with 17" wheels and 45 series tires, but being a cast wheel and using the popular "soft lip" design, made 17" wheels not clear the big C5 Corvette brakes.
A 17" billet wheel with the conventional stepped rim design would clear the caliper fine. The big problem with the C5 brakes is finding a wheel that would clear the face of the caliper with the spokes. I sent out my template to countless wheel suppliers trying to find a fit, and the Foose wheel was one of a very small group that would clear without the use of a spacer.
My wheel of choice was a custom-built 17" GM Rally wheel, but after being told that they could be built by two different vendors, it turned out that they would not clear the caliper face without a 5/8" spacer being used.

Thanks for the info , I was looking into using a Billet Specialties 17" Dyno rim most likely with a soft lip as well .I have Wilwood 2 piston calipers up front which I think are smaller than the corvettes. I also tried on a American racing Hopster rim with no issues ( 17 x 7 ) I dont think my setup will have any issues with brake clearance but I think I'll get on the phone with Billet specialties and send a template as well . I appreciate your help , JOHN
