What plates does anybody recommend for the farthest setback? I am relocating the alternator and not using a/c. In 2nd gen TA. Thanks.

They have the 1" set back plates available, but someone just posted this yesterday. Its a set of adjustable motor mounts where you can slide the engine back and forth.

Braking, steering, acceleration(60 ft times), just plain feeling in the steering. Moving 700 lbs back 1" or two is huge as far as weight bias. That's my opinion on a street car. Drag cars are another story. Since my car is a hobby and not an everyday driver, optimizing everything I do to it is just a personal game to make it the best "I" can make it. I'm starting to think it's a sickness. In the long run, accumlatively, it's a blast to drive.

I set my 5.3 about 2" back on my '78Z28 by using home made s&p plates and new holes in the chassis. This allowed me to use my T-10, stock drive shaft, and stock trans crossmember....saved me a bundle of $$
