Default Skyline R33 getting LS1 / t56

Since this project has progressed to the point the engine swap is moving forward, figured i'd finally post here.

Nissan Skyline R33, wrecked at a track in 2005, bought cheap, fixed front clip. Now starting the swap. Not a high dollar build by any means. I've done a few other swaps, this is not my first. Plan on doing a turbo ls1.

Why ls1?

I like them. I like their power band. It is cheaper for me to make my power this way than to go with an RB.

This should be a nice project once done. I've seen a few pictures of LS1 engines in R32-R34s... Is there any benefits of the LS1 over the RB, other than cost?

As the prior owner of an R33 and current owner of an LS1 Camaro I'm loving this swap. I would have loved to have combined the two.

Here's my old GTS25t R33 I owned while I was living in Japan, keep us updated.

not easy to find in roller, but they do pop up every now and then, tricky cars to own.

As far as the RB vs LS1 - ls1 can be done cheaper and i am familiar with them. RB's can be some neat engines that make some good power.

Need to be in Canada! There are several R32's and one R33 for sale in my City.

Here they are Legal to drive w/o modification due to a 15yr old grandfather law!

playing with possible turbo setups. The engine is not in the final place yet, i still want to move it back about an inch. I cut the right manifold and rotated it so it would clear the shock tower. It is still closer than i would like, i will play with it more. There is a lot of room to run the down pipe, and i can run it on back the factory location. So, i probably don't need to make the manifolds from scratch - people are making over 1500hp on these factory manifolds

shifter looks almost stock, once i move everything back about an inch it should be about perfect.

I'll be drifting this thing, but not really on the "pro" circuit - that has gotten to expensive for me.

thanks,

I've spent the last 2 days playing in the garage. I've just about finished the motor / trans mounts. Planning the build, intercooler & turbo locations.

EDIT - things changed, ignore what used to go here, i'm keeping it.

How is it sitting now? Obviously not engine/trans. But what does the car come with and does it have a US title?

so it is a complete rolling chassis now?

Did you finish the engine mounts for the LS1 swap, or is it still setup for the stock Nissan engine?

Title, or what not to get a title?

Does it still have to stock wiring harness for under the hood? (from inside cabin to the headlights and such?)
