6l80 with carbed 6.0?
Is it possible to run a 6l80 and 6.0 with carb and MSD controller?
I have read that the 6l80 has its own computer but needs the 2004 up engine with with a 58x reluctor. Anybody know if this can be done?
I would like to swap into a 1970 K20 with NP205 but dont want the engine control/injection when I can use a carb/intake.
thanks for any help offered

The controller in the trans needs to "talk" to the (an) ECM otherwise it runs in limp mode. (permanent 3rd gear.).
There are some options coming down the pike to work around this but not like next month or next quarter, unless you want to convert to EFI.

thanks guys.
The 6l80 has that low first gear and an overdrive that I want for towing and mpg. Hope somebody comes up with a solution soon, other wise I may be forced to go 5-speed standard trans.

Just run a Gen IV engine and the EFI and the ECM will talk to the 6l80 TCM and you'll get better MPG with the EFI anyway!

Have you thought about just running TCI's new 6 speed automatic? It is in a 4L80 case and has its own stand alone controller.

Nice gear spread though.
