Default LS2 conversion

hey guys... I am new to ls1tech so if I screw up don't be mad... LOL...
I would like to put a later model drive train in my 69 chevelle I would love to go with a 6.0 and T56. Obviously the best way to do this would be 05/06 GTO, but I am working my way thorugh college and don't have that kind of money. I can find truck engines and used trannys way cheaper. I guess I need to know a few things first though

1. If I buy get an LQ4/LQ9 is there anything that i need to change on the engine other than the flexplate, i.e; intake, oil pan, pully system, exhaust manifolds ect?

2. How many miles will one of these engines run before overhaul, should I try to find as low miles as possible or should I not worry with in reason?

3. Would I have to flash the computer to run without an Automatic transmision or change it in a way to run with a manual tranny?

4. Would I have to put electric gauges in my car or can I simply use mechanical guages?

I hope there is someone out there that can help, thanks for reading.

G o to the conversion section and check out the a body sticky. It should answer most of your questions.

1. The truck engine should work as is. You do not have to change the intake or anything.

2. These engine can o up to 200,000 miles with no problems but it depends on the maintenance. I would try and find one under 100000 miles to be safe. Check out car-part.com if you havent already.
3. you are going to have to get the computer tuned to remove vats anyway
4. electric gauges are the the best option in my mind
