Hi everyone just wondering if anybody knew more about this then i do.
I am putting a 5.3 into a 62 Impala and i currently have a truck pan and need a an F-body pan the kit i have researched is part # 19212593 is this correct?Or is it better to piece it together using part # 12558762 as the pan???
somebody please HELP
Thats great info. Thanks, Next question does anyone one know if the pan in this part #19212593 is the same as an f-body or similar. These kits are cheaper and you get everything you need just don't know if it will work for my application.???
Thanks
No the pan in that kit is the LH8 pan that came off the Hummers. The F-Body pan has a shorter sump than the LH8 pan. And with that part number (#19212593) I am pretty sure it doesn't come with the pickup tube.

That is the GMPP "Muscle Car Oil Pan Kit" and comes with all the bagpipes and BS necessary for installation on any Gen III engine (dipstick, gasket, new bolts, windage tray and oil pickup). The only thing it doesn't come with is a filter, 5.5 quarts of oil or an engine to mate it to! This pan does not have a provision for the oil level sensor in the side of the pan. I've used it and it is similar dimensions to the Gen I pan but fits Gen III engines. I guess someone at GM decided to sell a kit for a reasonable price instead of having people hunt down and cut up F-Body pans.
BTW, the kit requires a filter for a 2007 6.0 from a Sierra / Silverado, etc... (ask me how I know this)
Hope this helps.
Thanks gofastwclass. i will have to check on the dimensions because i know an f-body stock pan will clear my cross member with no mods. That would be ideal.
Thanks again everybody who put there 2 cents in.
