whats needed
whats needed well here it goes i have a 99 t/a w/ 147000mi on the stock ls1. i have seen the 5.3's for pretty cheap and know they are the same engine family as my ls1 but was just wondering what would be needed to put one in my car. i know alot of people wil ask why not just put another ls1 in or go with a 6.0 but i dont have alot of money to put into my car at the moment and figure a 5.3 is better than nothing if or when my motor goes,
Hey man whats up?I'm pretty sure everything will bolt right up.Alot of guys puting an 5.3 in there s10's r running the comaro/vett accessories.I havent heard of them having to drill for alt.Could be wrong though!Good luck,Mike
I've seen guy run with out drilling the hole 2 is strong enough ,but if you're handy I said drilled while it out, why 5.3 you could get a 6.0 for the same price, for $500 you can get a 6.0 out of 3500 van or truck
