Bs3 alternator issues?

Default Bs3 alternator issues?

I'm fairly certain the factory PCM commands the alternator on and controls some of the charging functions of the alternator. I'm running a bigstuff3 system on my lq9 and a factory truck front accessory drive. I guess what I'm getting at is how am I gonna make the alternator come on if the bs3 system doesn't command it on?

i am working is the same issue ,, and what I found is that you can run a 12V+ wire with a 500 resistance in line , plus the regular big wire that goes to the junction box and another 12V constant,, I am still working on the where they go on the alternator, once I get it clarified I will let you know.. or do a search with " alternator wiring" maybe it will make more sense to you than it did to me good luck

OkPOl here's what I'm gathering from a discussion on ls1tech that I googled. Pin b needs to have a resistor that's 500ohms of resistance inline and ran to a 12v sourcethe resistor should step voltage down around 3.5 to 4 volts. Pin c needs to be a switched 12v fused source. S&p has a diagram on their website as well but they're saying to use a bulb?? I think I'd prefer coil resistor as opposed to a bulb...

Pin B does need to go to either a 470 ohm 1/2 watt resistor (or a light bulb) and then to a switched +12V source.

Pin C needs to go directly to a +12V switched source.

You can also get your local alternator repair shop to convert the alternator to one wire, and you'll just need to hook the battery to the big post
