97 cobra 5.3

i have a 5.3 with 50,xxx miles on it im wanting to put milled .040 ls1 heads 224/227 cam but i want to go carburated. im wondering about hp/tq numbers but im more worried about if the ignition kit that msd has to carb a ls1 works on a 5.3 if the crank sensors read the same

It will work, I think you will need f-body coils though. The truck coils have a different connector

i have ls1 coils if needed but i think the truck coils are the same plug because i know a common swap is to put truck coils on a ls1 they are almost the equivelant of msd coils

also what size carb to use im new to the carb wolrd i know nothing about it. anything you can tell me about the swap would be helpfull

i used the MSD box in my 5.3 in s-10 swap and all the coils have the same connectors, its a very easy setup. Any other questions just ask. O yeah and i used the dual plane edelbrock intake and a holley 750 and mine runs real strong. couldnt be happier well until i shoot it
