What flexplate behind an LM7 with a TH400
What flexplate behind an LM7 with a TH400 Im sure this question has been asked a thousand times before but I can't seem to find a definitive answer to the question. I just called TCI as that is the company I at least plan on b buying my flexplate from and they told me to use the SFI approved flexplate #399753 (which they said came with the crank bolts) and I will need to use the GM style spacer to make it work. So my question is what do I need to go from the LM7 to the TH400 with an old style convertor. I dont want to buy stuff six times before I get it to work. I want to do this once and do it right. Thanks in advance for any help in this matter!
I want the SFI rating as this set-up will eventaully be going into the 9's but I may go that route if I need a space regardless. Its not that hard to pull the trans down the road especially if I need to restall the convertor. Thanks for your input! Anyone else?
I just put a 6.0 in my 94 camaro and used the stock (curved) flexplate from the 6.0 and a gm spacer off of a another 6.0. The trick is to put the flexplate on first then the spacer. I had $15 dollars in the spacer and the bolts. If you use a stock (flat) flexplate you have to put the spacer on first then the flexplate. Also the truck flexplates are drilled with a th400 pattern so it bolts right up. Hope this helps.
