Power steering issue
Power steering issue I finished up my swap today and the PS started whining like it was going out. Not good I thought
Fluid level was a little low but not empty so I topped it off. Bad move. It foamed up and vomited all over the engine bay. After about 2 hour of cleaning, I rechecked the reservoir and it was about the same level as before. A run test and it still whines
What gives? Is there a special way to prime the system other than spinning the pump by hand until fluid comes out?
Or do I have a bad pump?

I have had the pumps go bad after literally a second of low fluid. I have had others not seem to mind. Do the obvious checks to make sure the the plumbing is correct before you ruin a new pump.

Make sure you have the pressure on the correct side, lift the front wheels and while not running manually turn the wheels back and forth to help bleed the air out. I usually will apply vacuum also for 5 mins 3 times. either the pump is just bad or its got a nasty air pocket.... no punn intended lol
