Default 1955 chevy pickup LS1 conversion

Has anyone ever heard of one of these yet? I have a friend who has a 55 and we are thinking of attempting this since we can probably get a complete car for less than what a standard V8 swap would cost including a built motor and trans.

BTW, this site and more specifically this forum kisk ***. There is a wealth of knowledge on here and hopefully I can contribute.

I saw an old Chevy truck with an LS1 swap in it during last year's Power Tour. It wasn't a '55 though, it was a slightly older one. I don't know those trucks well enough to know the year though. Should be a very easy swap, its HUGE under the hood on them.

Welcome to the site!

Yeah I don't think the engine bay is going to be too crowded. I am just wondering about the oil-pan and the cross-member.
