What rear end are you running?

What size tires front/rear? That car is going to be badass.

Please provide the weight too when done full of fuel. I'm going to guess 2550lbs without driver. What was the weight with the previous combo?

I've got a couple medium case (188mm) diffs that have been worked over a bit (3.73 and 3.64).

Haven't decided on tires yet for this year. I ran 250/640/18 yoko slicks last year on 18x10" wheels. I've got enough clearance to run 280's without a problem but anything larger than that and I need wider wheels and more flare.

Previously it weighed 2250 without driver and about 1/2 tank of fuel. As soon as I roll it off the lift I''ll get an updated weight.

Good work man! Good to see another E30 done the right way.
You'll have a nice big smerk on you face with the fun and potential of these engines.

I'm hopeing to be somewhere in the 600hp range this year with mine.

wow man you actually can fit some wide tire in there on a really wide wheel, you should be all set to enjoy it without being all slippy sloppy on track.

damn, this is gonna be a really lightweight LS1-car!

It runs!!! After spending Wednesday night and most of tonight troubleshooting little issues we finally have some rumble! Been burning the candle at both ends so haven't had time to take pics but I did get a short little video tonight of the startup. Sorry it's not the best quality but you should be able to get the idea.

Had a good day on the dyno! I'm lucky the guys at XP Racing were able to move my scheduled morning appointment to the afternoon. A single plumbing fitting for my power steering and a 470 ohm resistor were keeping me from tuning this morning since it seems like nobody in this town opens before 9am...

Anyway, the LS1 made 411hp and 384tq on pump gas! I have the .drf file but haven't had time to download winpep to this computer to make pretty dyno sheets. For now another crappy video will have to do. :-)

Was a successful racing debut of the LS1/e30!

Car ran perfect! Took several sessions to get used to the car but overall I really like the results of the ls1+e30 marriage. The car feels more balanced and of course the extra power is pretty amazing.

I qualified 5th for the "qualifying" sprint race and finished 4th. Results from the qualifying race set the position for the "feature" race but I was able to work up to 2nd place pretty quickly. Unfortunately I brought a knife to a gun fight as the "nascars" and their 700+ HP were just too much on the straights. I finished 4th overall and I was the fastest non tube-frame car. I did have a good battle with the 3rd place "nascar" once his tires started going off but I just couldn't get the job done to make it to the podium.

For reference the "nascars" are a mix of ASA and other "cars" from similar series. Basically tube frames with huge slicks and anywhere from 700 to 800HP.

No real updates other than being to busy with a new house + renovating/selling my old house to play with it. Until this past weekend I had not driven the car since my last race back in April. I dusted it off this last weekend to do a local auto-x which was fun but nothing really new to report other than it was fun.

Next week I should have some time and hopefully can get it over to my friends shop to play with weights.

In preparation for last weekends race, I finally got the e30 on the scales. Weighs a little more than I expected but I say the same thing when I get on them too... :-)
