No worries bud, As for the triangular indentation, The kit we bought was supplied with washers and we used them between the plate and clamshell to space it out to keep it from hitting.

stock lowers and stock uppers. i just went to the junk yard the other day and got the uppers. im useing carshop adapters. the stock uppers have a buldge in them so i dont know if im gonna use washers or grind it flat or a little of both but as is it wont sit flush. you can see the gap in the straight on picture.

what are you useing?

I have stock frame mounts, and what I was told are clamshells... Im about an inch off on one side, so Im about to resort to a welder.... why is this so difficult to be a bolt in? I thought I was a moron and the only one having this issue, looks like we are growing... Have they changed frame mounts, do we have the wrong uppers, or what are we missing the others havent???

Does anyone know what vehicle uses the upper clamshells with the 1 1/2" to center hole? Have tried unsuccessfully to find some.

Leonpiper, looks like the same setup I have...might have to mess around some more with what I've got.

I made my own adapter plates, and had the same problem when dropping the motor in. i had to drill new holes into the cross member, but if you buy something that is supposed to work its always a bummer to have to MAKE it work!

Well I know I have the wrong clamshells, I also found out, the pass side frame mount will work upside down and there is a slight difference in them.... drivers side will only fit one way.... from both sets of frame mounts we tried. We look at this SS monte and my clam shells appear to be a lot longer...

What did you pull them from, random motor? Looking at them you cant really see the difference in the 2 I have, 1 has a flat back, one has a triangular spot that pushed the mount away from the motor, its closer but still off a little, Im going to make it work tonight...
