s-10 with 5.3 issues
alrite guys heres the deal. i have a 1989 s-10 with a 5.3. it has ported heads. dual plane intake a 224 cam and a holley 750. the truck has a turbo 350 with a 4k stall converter. we were having issues with the gas pedal and it was only opening the 2 barrell. it went a 7.93 with around 35 degrees of timing. so we built a throttle linkage for it and now the 4 barrell works, took it to the track and it went a 7.93 again. pulled a little timing and it again went a 7.93. i think the carb may be too big and dumping too much fuel. what do you guys think?
the truck weighs 3200 with me in it and has 28 inch drag radials on 3.42 gears. i know it needs more gear. any ideas?

I think you have WAY too much timing in it most likey. This isnt a SBC, LS engines run 25-29 degrees typically.
Think it getting to much fuel...What does your wideband say?
I think running 12.20s with a 5.3 isnt bad. You didnt tell us you MPH, any of your other times, or any other info.

carburated LS motors are a whole different animal. it is running off of the MSD 6010 and the 6 chips it gives all go up to 36 degrees so i dont think thats the problem. idk though thats why i asked. we dropped it to 33 degrees and it ran identical. the mph was down at the track due to a wreck but before the throttle was fixed it went a 7.93 at 88 mph with a 1.70 60 foot. with the 4 barrell working right i only cut a 1.75 60 foot. i think it is getting too much fuel. i was just seeing what others thought.
