Default Shift Lock Control Switch Purpose?

What is the purpose of this A/T shift lock? Im trying to determine if I can remove it from my harness. Ill be using the truck fuseblock so right now I still have this in my harness. Ill also be running a 4L60E if that matters.

IIRC It is the circuit that forces you to have your foot on the brake pedal to release the soleniod, that prevents you from pulling the shifter in gear

Yes you can get rid of it as long as your shifter doesn't have the lock solenoid hooked up anymore
