L33 and T56 Upgrades and Advice

L33 and T56 Upgrades and Advice So Im looking to do an L33 5.3l and T56 in my miata. I can get a 5.3 for about $1500 cheaper than an Ls1 so dont try and change my mind unless you have an ls1 and t56 for $2300. Heres my list of questions. I want ATLEAST 340WHP in a miata 
What mods do I need to do to acomplish this? What cam, intake? I only have around $2300 to spend on the motor and trans and I know if I budget right I can do it. What year motor do I need to look for to get the aluminum block 5.3l? I see so many different ones but dont know which one to get. Also What clutch combo do I need to mate the t56 to the L33? do I need any kind of spacers? I will be using the truck wiring harness and will figure out all the wiring on my own later. Thanks for all the advice

Really!?! I thought it would take alot more than that. So far im def planning to do an upgraded cam, cai, ECM tune, and a very open exhaust. If that alone will get me at 340rwh then I'll be happy. Also, from what I hear the L33 only came with automatics. So which wiring harness do I need to use, the truck harness, or ls1 harness and modify the coil connectors?
No, the L33 packs a punch. I haven't put mine on a dyno yet, but I have a L33 with LS1 intake, LS6 Cam and springs and a T56 in a 1997 240sx. From some of the info I've read, mod for mod the 5.3L's are usaully about 15 to 25 hp less than the 5.7L.

Right on! This is exactly the encouragment I need to do my build. Will be starting a thread on it in the next few days. I've been researching ALL day about what I need to do it and I think I got a pretty detailed parts list for what Im gonna be doing. I have been getting alot both ways about how its easy to make power and a good bang for your buck with the L33, but I have also read a few negative things. What about the LC9 motor? Is there any difference in using that motor over the L33 other than alittle more added weight?
