Default DBW + No VSS = Problem?

Trying to diagnose an issue with my buddies car. 6.0 LQ4, DBW, TKO 600 and no VSS. Basically, when you lay into it, its just not all there. Starting to wonder if the DBW is an issue with no VSS?

Put a W/B on it and messed with the tune a little with HP tuners, but no luck. WOT, it reads about 14:1...a little lean I suppose, but should be decent.

Motor is stock.

Thanks in advance.

14:1 @ wfo is not decent.
Suggest you put some fuel to it to get it down to hi 12's..
What else do you see on a datalog that mite be of interest?

Yeah I suppose you are right. I commanded it to 13:1 and then 12.5:1 using the VCM controls in HPTuners and that didnt help at all.

The LTFT's look fine...everything looks fine to me really, but then again im no expert. Someone suggested previously that our return line might be too restricted so we opened that up a bit, but that didnt help.

Its strange really how the motor acts. Once you start laying into it to holds back, and then when you let off it comes alive for a split second.

What do your datalogs look like?
Maybe post them, and let the guys w/ HPT take a look???
AIRC, w/ the DBW, you need a VSS signal...

look at the ignition tables & air intake sensor in datalog. The 6.0's start pulling lots of timing with the air intake temps get about 95 degrees F with the STOCK calibration.

Also I've noticed the stock calibration pulls out timing above 4500, dont know why..I think its some sort of torque management or somthing...

Thanks a lot for the input guys. I think we are getting somewhere.

I took my 6.0 tune from Wait4me and copied all the timing tables over. (Would've done the whole tune but its drive by cable) That actually did not help.

I logged and noticed it was only getting mid teens for advance @ WOT. I know the LS's dont want as much timing as a SBC, but that doesnt seem right at all. So I commanded the AFR to 12.7 and the timing to 28 deg while my buddy hammered on it. Definitely came alive.

Still not sure why its pulling timing though. I went through what I thought was every table under the timing area, but I must be missing something.

I can attach a log if anyone cares to have a look.

knock retard or torque management? Be sure to check the iat timing table as well as busta suggested
