Default 02 sensor problem?

hi all i am having a problem with my swap (2006 5.3l/4l60e) into a 1974 chevy truck. I got the bosch universal o2 sensors (black, white, white, grey) and i connected the wiring using an online bosch 02 sensor page. I connected both sensors as black=purple, grey=tan, and white=dark brown, white= pink. my truck runs rich and throws codes p0172 and p0174. when i get the live data only bank 1 reads. The maf and bank 2 doesn't read at all. I disconnected both 02 sensors and the truck idles and responds well and the maf reads. Could i have done something wrong to the bank 2 sensor that would make it read/run this way? or? any help is greatly appreciated.

What does the bosch page say the white wires are for having two maybe they are in the wrong position or maybe there is a bad connection on the bank 2. Have you checked for that. And I am getting ready to do a 6.0 swap why didn't you use the factory O2's.

try swapping the sensors to the oposite banks and see if the problem switches banks. I had a brand new out the box bosch o2 that was bad and caused the exact same prob. its either that or you have wires mixed up.

OK it's all figured out. 1 point for the idiots at the parts store. One of my sensors was for a 2002 Chevy 5.3 (wrong one). My setup is out of a 2006 silverado. I believe that the difference is in grounding. I think all sensors 2003+are grounded by the Pcm and 99-02 are grounded through the sensor or some other external source. Anyways, I just added the new 2006 universal sensor and vrmmmm..... with no codes. Thank you everyone that to the time to help.

The white wires aren't polarity based so they can be swapped between the two remaining wires. The grey is ground (low signal) and the black is high signal.

Default o2 sensor wiring colours

Brand Signal Ground Heater Heater
AC Delco Purple Tan Brown Brown
Bosch Black Grey White White
Delphi 1 Purple Tan Brown Brown
Delphi 2 Black Grey Purple Purple
Denso Blue White Black Black
Honda 1 White Green Black Black
Honda 2 Blue White Black Black
NTK Black Grey White White
Toyota Blue White Black Black

I think you need to connect the pink and black wires to the whites on the new sensor, purple to the black and the tan to the grey.
