Automatic AND 6 Speed harness?
Automatic AND 6 Speed harness? Just wondering if anyone is as crazy / indecisive as I am.
I'm looking to put a 6 speed into my car that is currently an automatic. However, I'd like to be able to swap an auto back into it at a moment's notice (dragstrip).
Has anyone done such a thing? All I'd really have to change is lengthen the VSS, and wire in a skip shift / reverse light, correct?
Opinions / Questions / Concerns?

I assume you are talking about an electronic automatic (4l60e)? Pinouts will be virtually the same. Just note the TCC/Lockup connection as well as VSS and reverse lockout. Tune should also be changed. If you are talking about swapping in a TH350/TH400/Glide then the wiring will be identical.

Yes, I was speaking of a 2002 4L60e. And yes, I know about the tune, that's not an issue.

Yes it's do-able for 99-02 Fbodys
Wire it for an auto (including brake switch) and use the brake lights to engage the reverse lock for a T56. VSS wires are the same length. Only differences are the 4L60E main connector vs CAGS, back-up lights, reverse lock on T56
You'll have to either switch tune or simply have two PCMs ready to swap back and fourth
