How big is your Edelbrock Hey guys I am finally tearing down my 5.3L to put on the Edelbrock Preformer intake with the MSD controller.
My question is for the guys running Edelbrock carbs.
What size are you running? 600, 650, 750 or 800?

Just a suggestion run a holley or holley style carb. Much better performance in all the applications ive had. Ive had a few edelbrocks and none were as good as the holleys that replaced them. On a 5.3 a 650 should be more then enough 750 at most and thats only if you have big cam turn some rpm.

I am not so much looking at performance as I am drivability/dependability. I have had Edelbrocks before on my 67 Camaro and my truck I have now. Right out of the box they ran and I never had to do any tuning. I drove the Camaro for 5 years straight 365 days/year and the truck I have now, I put 24k miles on it so far this year.
Anyway, at least your size for the Holley should give me a reference point for the size I need. I know there is a way to calculate how big CFM you need for the HP that you have. But, I cant find it.
If your not going for all out performance with a big converter id say put a 650 on it. My friend had double hump head 355 with a good sized cam and the 650 would let it pull to 7000 easily.
