which o2 sensors?
My wiring harness is the green/blue connector type that was supposed to come from a '04 Van w/4l80e. I have the square white/black o2 connectors, but am not sure what o2 sensors I can use. there are some in the classified section for a reasonable price, but not sure I can use them. they are part 213-3839 acdelco.
thanks

Pairs should match up, you cant have a white and a black up front or in the rear
Are they wired as case grounded or isolated ground?
Info on them
http://www.lt1swap.com/vortec_o2_sensors.htm
Simply put, youll be replacing either the black or white connector body depending on which type of O2s your wiring is setup for. Quick and easy test is to do a continuity test on the tan signal side. If they connect, it's isolated ground and you need another white connector and two matching truck O2s. Open means case grounded and replace the white for a black and use two Fbody O2s (all were case grounded)

I used this when going through the harness
http://www.lt1swap.com/2004vortec_pcm.htm
and verified that black is for bank 2 sensor 1
and the white is bank 1 sensor 1
When I trace the tan to each of the connectors (both black and white) back to the blue pcm connector, I get 001 ohms

Okay, I misunderstood, and still might (read dense), but tested the tan between the two sensors and they are not connected. Would they have been connected together in a tan splice pack? The only spice pack my harness has is the black for grounding and nothing but black leads back to it.
thanks again for the help

Open means they are case grounded i.e. the black body style

Swap the white connector for a black one you removed and run standard LS1 Fbody O2s. You should be able to depin the connector with a paperclip so no more cutting/splicing is necessary

Man, this is confusing. The LT1swap webpage linked above said in 2003+ none were case grounded, but all the wiring diagrams show any o2's that are isolated had tan splice packs. So is it possible that GM used the white connector, but wired it as case grounded since there were no tan wire splice packs?
Are the sensors the same color as the connectors? This is the one I was hoping to use.
edit: a little light might be shinning threw my dim skull. According to the lt1swap site (love that place) that all 2003+ are isolated ground only, but do not come with tan splice packs anymore, and are grounded through the pcm. Since there is no splice pack to show it as closed, since the pcm should do that, so I could actually need isolated o2's ???

Id take his word over quite a few people who think they know whats up. Ive seen 03 harnesses with just about any combo of O2s, even the older 4 wire flats up front. Red/blue and green/blue PCMs. The white connectors wont work on the black O2s, the tab is wrong. Snip it out and it'll fit, but if you forget about it when you replace them, there could be conflicts
I choose the PCM when I rebuild the harness, so i pick the O2s that match what Im using. 99% of my LSx work is the 99-02 Fbody setup, so case grounded black O2s are what I use. 4 wire flat O2s are a bit cheaper and send the same signal so I offer to swap to those. My personal swap cars use them

Leave it up to GM to throw a curve ball...
Express van's connector end views show different color o2 sensor plugs and different part#s between left and right bank. Confuse things even more, 5.3L is different from 4.8/6.0.
attached is a 2004 express van schematic for o2 sensors.
For 2004: according to GM service information, the following info applies to o2 sensor connectors for Express Vans. (harness side) (part number is for the actual connector, NOT the o2 sensor)

White all engines. p/n 15326423

now I would be interested to know, what the part# that is etched or stamped into the metal body of the oxygen sensor for these 4 o2 sensors. (for express van 6.0)
A complete take out 2004 5.3L out of a 2wd tahoe I picked up a few weeks ago used the SAME sensor in all 4 locations.
go figure...
