Crankcase ventilation
I have a PCV valve in the back of the drivers side valve cover and what looks like an open vent line on the front of the pass side valve cover.
Does it matter where I run these hoses to on the intake? I am thinking any vacuum source is acceptable but and not 100% sure.
Someone respond if I am overlooking the best or correct location to run these crankcase ventilation hoses.
Take a look here. You may find several options....
I think I was sold an intake from a cable type throttle body that had the DBW throttle body placed on it. 2003 5.3l engine.
I do not have a location to run the tube from the pass side valve cover to the DBW throttle body as I see the LS1 does. The spot right behind the throttle body where I see some of the trucks go to is a metal plug that looks like it was there from the factory.
I look at some diagrams and it shows air going into this location. How could air go in to this tube on the pass valve cover if it is hooked to the throttle body? Wouldn't it have to draw vacuum if hooked to the throttle body?
Thanks to all who replied. Looks like this is another one of those "do what works for your application" kind of things.
