Default 5300 center dump headers

I am new to this site but you have been a wealth of information for my conversion. Thanks to all of you as you have saved me a ton of money and time eliminating expiermenting on my project. I am installing a 2003 5.3 truck engine into an airboat. I think this will be a great power plant for an airboat due to its weight, durability, and power. So far I have found or fabricated the parts I need ( w/ your help ) except for a set of center dump headers. They are required to give prop clearance. I would think someone would make them for street rod conversions for this engine but cannot find any on the internet or at speed shops I have tried. Any Ideas on where they might be available? Thanks. Bob

I just bought this set of Hooker shorty ceramic coated headers on Egay for $200. There was also a set of 'vette center dumps that went for about $50. While I was shopping I saw a set of sandrail LSx headers and straight back exhaust that I thought would go great on a jet boat or whatever.

Bob, I used the Sanderson CC1LS1 'Block Hugger' headers for my '32 Ford coupe project. Sanderson sent me 3 different sets of their LS1 headers to let me trial fit each set to see which pipes worked best for my TCI chassis/steering column fitment. Here are a few pics of the CC1LS1 and their LS150 headers that I didn't use. Another bit of advice, if you are thinking about ceramic coating, DO NOT let Sanderson coat the pipes for you. Send the pipes to Jet-Hot or one of the other better known coating companies.

BTW, the reason I went with Sanderson was because I ordered a set of Patriot headers from Summit first, but they looked like sh*t and I returned them (I lost the shipping charges both ways, about $38), the quality was definitely 'Made in China'.
