factory gauges I am swapping an LSx powertrain into a 92 Chevy C1500. Everything is going smooth so far but I am about ready to work on the oil pressure and water temp guages. I am looking to retain the oe cluster. I am not too worried about the oil pressure sender b/c I can always go to the oil cooler block off on the pan.
That being said, I was wondering if the LSx O.P. sensor/switch could be wired to run my 92 guage? Water temp can be had from the right rear head, but that is a straight metric thread and the only aftermarket adaptor I know of accepts 1/8 NPT. The W.T. sender in the TBI engine is 3/8 NPT. I wonder if the late W.T. sensor could run the 92 gauge?

i am currently doin 5.3 swap in a friends 96 s10 and we r retaining all factory gauges. What u need to do is take ur factory 1500 im guessing either a 305 or 350 and have someone mill the factory sender down. We had to take the one from the 4.3 v6 and we had a local machine shop use there lathe and turn it down. I believe u need to go from 3/8 npt (factory) to 12x1.5 (5.3) hope this helps.
