81 Camaro Wiring help
81 Camaro Wiring help Hey guys, need some help here. Im putting an LS1 and T56 into my 81 Berlinetta
, but im really not sure on how to go about with the wiring. Ive got no prior wiring experience, and im not real sure about the kits that are out there. If i were to do completely from scratch, can anybody tell me the tools i would need, and if it something i could even tackle? If i buy one of the kits, am i going to need adapter or something to hook the engine to the cars old wiring setup? Im 19 and i work at pep boys, so im kinda working on a limited budget (something under 750 would be nice, but i dunno if thats unrealistic or not) Any help you guys could give me would be great! thanks!
Oh and P.S.-- Anybody heard of putting a 4th gen dash and center console in a second gen? id really like to make my car stand out, but i dont want a huge headache, which is probably what im asking for.

and a guy on 78ta.com is doing it too in england.... seen a few
as for your wiring what are you asking the computer wiring or the cars wiring? the only thing i know that youll have to plug in off the computer is a few hot wires to the bat, and an ignition wire or two, then youll have to wire the starter in it too.... that should be about it, if you are trying to use your factory gauges with the ls motor, its gonna require some work, as Im debating on trying to do that with my t/a or not.... 550 for new gauges from autometer that will work kinda makes me want to though....

Well, im wanting to rewire the whole car, but i know the engine wiring has to go through the firewall, and in my haste to get this done i hacked the crap out of everything...lol So is that something that i can fix? And i was gonna put some autometer gauges in place of the OE ones. Right now the dash is 50 percent apart, im trying to get the steering wheel off, but all of the wiring is confusing the hell out of me.
