LS? into a 62-67 Chevy II So my thoughts are like this. I currently own a L98 swapped 89 Jaguar XJS Convertible (avatar pic) which is pretty much stock w/ an 89 TPI motor and well built 700R4 and a 2800 stall lock-up converter with a 3.23 posi. The car is heavy at 4010lbs but runs a respectable 13.68 @ 99 mph in full, emissions legal street trim. Anyway, the car may be sold and I would like to get back into a 62-67 Chevy II which I should be able to keep around 3000lbs. I would like to build a durable, very mild mannered, supercharged drivetrain making about 550 hp. I want to keep fuel economy in mind and I plan on using an od automatic. I am very happy with the 700R I have in the jag. It has been trouble free for the 3 years its been in this boat. What I don't like about it is the 1-2 gear ratios. To big a drop for my liking. Is there an LS? series engine that a 200R4 will bolt up to. These can be built to handle lots of power ( GN guys) and the 1st gear ratio and the od ratio are, IMO, a little better. What LS combination will bolt up to a 200R and what would be an easy to build, economical to build and trouble free LS platform to meet these goals. Thanks for your time guys.

IIRC. there's a Company that makes a different 1st gear (maybe 2nd too, my memory isn't what it used to be, sorry) ratio not as steep for I believe the 700R4. I would think they can be used in a 4L60e too. I forget what mag it was in though. Try the tranny section.
