Default Wire harness basic ?

I have been reading here for a while. I am putting a LS1 in a 81 Trans Am. As far as my wire harness what am I missing I need to delete Vats or do a resistor mod to it delete AC and EGR? Is there any other things I am missing to just get the motor to start and run? I will be runnig a TH400 the LS1 had a T56 behind it. Thanks for any help.

I am good with wires. I got the vats resistance yester day from the key. I want to know what someone does to the harness when they re-work them?

Check out the FAQ in this section. There's a good bit of info on making your harness a true "stand-alone" harness. I'm going to go this route when swapping a 6L into my 74 corvette.

You can have the vats deleted from the PCM and then you don't have to worry about wrestling with wires and resistors.

Yep, that is a lot easier!!!
You are going to need to get a reflash anyways to shut off all the codes that are going to pop up.

Yea basicly I want to get the motor in and get it started before I do any mods. I will go in bone stock first. I have pleanty of resistors laying around and I did that mod on my other car for a remote start was not too hard. I was thinking of getting HP tuners one day so I can tune both cars.
