oil pan sensor Hello,
I have an engine from a 2002 Firebird. LS1. There is some sort of 2 connector sensor that screws into the side of the oil pan.
My wires to it were cut at the sensor. I have a donor harness with two wires, but they are red/black and the sensor had different colored wires.
Could someone with a similar engine look at the colors and tell me which would go to the top and the orientation to the locking plug with respect to this?
I am guessing this is an oil level sensor, but it may be a knock sensor of some type.

The oil level switch is just a switch, it doesn't matter which wire is hooked to which terminal. BTW, you don't really need it, it has nothing to do with the engine running. It's there for people who don't know a dipstick when they see one. 
It was a safety item GM instituted for LSx engines since they burned oil. It ran a dummy light in your dash for drivers not so good at changing the oil on scheduled intervals. I cant think of anyone whos actually retained the switch in a swap
