Short crank, you'll need the spacer and bolts. If the flywheel is flat (no arch), put the spacer on first.

You have a long crank 6.0 and that is the proper (flat) flywheel. You need nothing but bolts and an engine bay for them to mate and live happily ever after.

Seriously, if the mounting surface on the back of the crank was even with the gasket you would have the "short" crank, but yours sticks out .400" so you have the "long" version.

Wow, howsabout that! I've got a one-off Corvette motor! As far as I knew, only certain trucks came with the "long"cranks. Here's a pic of the stock '03 C-5 engine (transplanted in my Maverick) undergoing a rear main seal job. Looks like the same crank as yours. This particular crank (whatever the "length") required the spacer and bolts to mate up a 200R4. Guess you better solicit some other opinions...

Your're right only certain (early as I have been told) trucks had the long crank. I'm going to look for my pics since the engine has been installed for quite a while. It looked like a long one to me but you may be right - it might be a newer one.

if you have access to take the oil pan off and look at the casting number on one of the counter weights you can tell by that.

All of the '99 - '00 cranks had the 12552215 casting with the wide flange.
All of the '01-'04 cranks used the 12552216 casting with the narrow flange.

here you go.

the one on the left is the 12552216 which is the narrow flange, and the one on the right is the 12552215 which is the wide flange.

99-00 iron headed 6Ls had the long crank. 01+ aluminum headed engines have the shorter snout.
