Why does my 4.8 have a mechanical throttle?

Why does my 4.8 have a mechanical throttle? I have a 2001 Silverad 4.8 LR4 that I am putting in a corvette chassis. Mine has a mechanical throttle body but everything else I see seems to say it should be electronic. Were there two different versions made in '01 or do I not have an LR4?

The 4.8L wasn't DBW till 03. The earlier DBW 01-02 were mostly 6.0L's and some 5.3L. The mech TB even carried over in the vans till at least 2007.
But it easy easy to swap form one to the other. Just need the DBW setup and the correct PCM.

I prefer to stay mechanical. I guess I must have gotten a 2003+ diagram. Do you think the '01 wiring is pretty much the same as '03 except for the pedal stuff?
