Do I need a computer to control the 4L80E or does the engine computer control it. If the trans needs a transmission computer, where the hell is it on the truck. I just pulled everything I thought I needed for my LQ4 / 4L80E swap, and all I saw was the drive by wire tac and the engine computer. Any help would be great. Thanx

It's controlled by the PCM.

You can get a full manual valve body that doesn't use a computer, but you must be willing to shift - all the time...
