Default 05 5.3 LM7 charging module?

Anyone know what this is?
It's taped to the battery cable, but more importantly, it's hooked to the "ind ctrl", pin 15, green PCM terminal.
If I dont need the module, where should that wire connect in a standalone harness?

Isn't that the thing that helps calculate charge / load on the battery? How it's wired I'm not sure I never messed with an 05+ engine / harness.

The way I understand, you only need it if you are using the factory alternator controlled by the PCM.

OK, "search is" my friend. It's a Generator Battery Control Module. But I have not found out if it will do anything without the serial data hooked up to the instrument or BCM. Anyone?

ttt,
I wired it into the charging circuit. Looks like the alternator defaults to 13.8 V even if the thing fails, so guessing it wont hurt.
Any other input on this?
