Default Need advise, what to buy

Hee guys,
I am looking to buy a QA1 coil-over set for my '72 camaro.
What would you guys recommand, Small block springs or big block springs, I will be running a LS1 instead of the old 350 and I have fiberglass inner fenders, trunk mount battery and a aluminum radiator. I don't know how hars the smaal block springs are allready, I guess QA1 knows something and I should go with the small block ones anyway, but I would like to know your thoughts.

Yet another question, I am buying autometer gauges for my car and I am ordering: elec speedo, tach, water temp, oli temp, oil press, trans temp, volts, fuel level. Is there another gauge that I really should have with a stock LS1?(to start with) I was thinking of air fuel ratio and vacum, what do you recommand?
Thanks
Peter

Id just go with the small block springs. The LS1 weighs alot less than the old SBC, plus you having fiberglass parts lightens you up even more.

Thanks that's what I thought, how about the gauges?
And Lesrace82 do you have any measurements on motor mounts you used?
Love your project.
thanks
Peter

My '82 Camaro's 0-90 Ohm oil pressure gauge is compatible with the LS1's oil pressure sending unit...may or may not be very accurate, but it reads 45psi idle and ~58psi above 2000rpm.

I used an '88 fuel tank pickup so the fuel level sending unit is compatible with my dash gauge.

Voltage is voltage, so the volts gauge works.

My '82 tachometer reads ~500rpm low, with it connected directly to the PCM's tach output.

Coolant temp sender I'm using is a 1998 LS1 piece, and the resistance scale is not the same as my '82 dash gauge expects. One is 0-1200 Ohms, the other is 0-1600 Ohms or some such. Not a show stopper for me but definitely a consideration.

Speedometer output from the LS1 PCM is 4K pulses/mile, I'm using an Autometer electronic speedo which will take that input no problem.

I used the stock 72 motor mounts. I just made a 1/4" aluminum plate that looks like the S&P adapter plates.
