68 camaro ls3/t 56 header question....
id imagine the clearance issues (steering, mounts, frame, struts, brakes, trans linkage, where applicable) are totally different between the two. Ive never dealt with a 1st gen, but id imagine you'd be better off with BBC headers made for that car with lsx flanges, or swap specific headers (which there could very well be for that car).

Where did you check on the headers from? I got mine within 3 days from Summit. Speedway has them so does Jegs. Call Dynatech direct, they are in the middle of changing their part numbers so if you cannot locate them at one distributor that might be why. Be prepared to buy an MSD spark plug boot kit for numbers 5 & 7 cylinders as the number 3 tube goes straight back and will cause interference with the stock ends. The MSD kit is part number 3301. It is an adjustable boot kit that will allow you to bend the wire to the appropriate angle to clear. I think it was like $6.00 for a set of two. I went ahead and bought 2 kits to be on the safe side.

Pistons will not be here till mid feb,so i will wait
thanks for the boot info. Headers LS into 68 Camaro Its not just as simple as headers. It all has to work together.
Get a matched set.
Headers must match:
Mounting plates, subframe caps, engine mounts, tranny choice, alternator (will hit subframe), front accessories, AC clearance. The headers need to wrap around and clear the steering box.
You will spend twice as much money without a plan.
Locate what some one else used and use every part they did or you will buy parts 2 times over.
On headers, Hooker has a matched set for LS into a 68 Camaro
As does Edelbrock.
