Need some help on a couple of points please
I am trying to fit my 4l60e to the 4.8 in that 1987 Brougham. The trans comes from a 1999 Camaro. Could it be that torque converters from a truck compared with those from a Camaro V8 are different?
Can I switch them? I read it is not too recommended to remove a torque converter and reinstall it. I understand this when you rebuild your tranny and don't want to have old oil running through it. But my case is two used trannies wth two used converters? Can I just switch them? Is there a seal that might get damaged when I removed it?
Second point.
My engine mounts seem to put the engine too much rearwards. The easiest for me to modify them is to drill 2 extra holes but this means I can only use three holes instead of four when I attach the mounts to the engine.
Do you guys think that using only three bolts causes a problem? I don't really think but I don't have much experience with that stuff.
Thanks in advance
The only question remaining is can I use only three bolts on the engine mounts instead of four?
