If you want to keep the TH350 in its original location. You will need to use 1" setback plates. Many manufactor of the 1" setback, CarShops, Edelbrock, etc... or you can make your own (which is what I have done.)

I have used the straight up adapter, it works just fine, just the yoke is not in as fat as it could be, and the oil pan is a sheet of paper from the K member in my 89, so the 1 inch set back like i am using in my trans am us the best was to go, especially price, think i paid 40$.

I bought a set of el cheapo plates off eBay for like $30 shipped. There are 3/8" thick and 1" setback. I had to use a piece of 16ga steel under the frame stands to shim the oil pan up off the crossmember. Your mount setup is also going to effect other things such as oil pan selection, accessory setup, and if/where your ac compressor is mounted, just some things to consider while making your selection. There are a lot of guys on here and I don't think any two setups are exactly alike but all have good info and ideas.

Thanks guys. I've seen 5/16 and 3/8 thick plates and wasn't shure which one worked better over the other. I do not have A/C so I don't need to consider that. I am going to reuse the set of Energy Suspension mounts that are on my small block.

On my Chevelle, I used 1/4" steel plate (early BRP Style). For my Nova, I used 1/2" Alum in a 1" setback layout (Edelbrock pattern).

What is next to figure out is the Height of the engine to sit. This is due to pan, crossmember, Accessories, frame and other areas of contact.
Warning, the higher of the front of the engine many cause problem and more chances that the trans might come into contact with the firewall/trans tunnel when trying to get your engine tilt angle.

You change the height by using shims, spacers, different engine Mount (tall/narrow or short/wide) and Frame stands (Also T/N or S/W). I used a combination of T/N engine mounts with mod'd S/W frame stand to get the height I needed for my Chevelle.
