I was just wondering how hard it would be to remove a 3.8L V6 from a 99 Firebird, and replace it with a 416ci LS3 & either a 4L60E or T56. could someone with experience or just the knowledge please give some advice on how to go about it or how hard it would be, what does it consist of?
a friend of mine has a wrecked z28 i might can buy off him as a donor car for little miscellaneous parts.

The difficulty is really going to depend on your mechanical experience. If you have done engine swaps before or pretty labor intensive work then it shouldnt be too bad, but if the most work you've ever done was a air filter or catback exhaust system then I would say its going to be pretty tough.

It helped me a lot when I swapped my 97 v6 for a 98 LS1. I'm not sure about the wiring for the LS3, but someone probably has a pinout for it. I had never done an engine swap before, and it wasn't too bad. Then again, I did have people help me with a bunch of stuff. Since you've done swaps before and have an experienced friend it should be pretty straightforward for ya. Just don't forget about changing the VATS, or else you'll be wondering why your newly installed engine won't run for more than 2 seconds...
