Speartech shop shots Here's a few pics of what's going on here as well as one package we finished and delivered a few weeks ago.
This is "Test Row" where all of your harnesses are run on a real live engine before delivery. We do this with ALL harnesses whether we are doing a stand alone factory rework, or building you a brand new custom harness.
Here's a 2002 LS1 complete package we recently finished and delivered. This is going into a high dollar street rod.
This one was a real beauty with only 3300 miles! Whenever possible I take the cluster from the car and wire it up to get the true mileage; a little safer than just taking someones word for it!
The customer wanted all of the "bells and whistles" so we set him up with the full ETC (electronic throttle control) conversion. No cables coming thru the firewall, simple 4 wire cruise control hookup; a really slick option!
Here's the business end of the harness showing the electronic pedal and the EASY wiring hookup that's part of our harnesses.
Packages like this don't show up here everyday, and this one was sold in 4 days!!!

Wow. Absolutely amazing shop you run there, John! If I had my swap to do over again, I'd have popped for extending the PCM connectors back into my passenger compartment...mounting the PCM in the engine bay has been a real puzzle.
I just brought my LS1 swap project back from Mufflex having an exhaust system fabricated, greatly appreciate all your advice, and the benchtop programming harness really did the trick.

Cool! I need to call you. I'm going to need my harness reworked but need you to help me figure out a few things first. Will someone be able to spend some time on the phone with me? Who should I talk to?

Seems like you have a nice setup there. I have a question for you though. How much would you charge to just extend the PCM connectors on my harness so I can mount the computer inside my '86 Z28? If you don't want to post prices on the board, you can email me at bad86z28@hotmail.com.

That's one of the stipulations in determining whether to use a reworked harness or a new harness. We don't extend the PCM wiring. The labor involved to do that is higher than building a new harness.

If you really want to extend them yourself, you can buy some high quality wire and do it yourself. Make sure you use an iron instead of a gun and use 63/37 solder if you can find it. You don't need lots of different colors of wire, one will do since you will be covering it up later. Just make sure you use the correct gauge and quality. Get yourself lots of heat shrink and go to town. Just remember, only do one wire at a time and cut the wires about a foot away from the computer for ease. You are looking at over 100 wires and 200 solder joints. I can see how it would be easier and more cost effective for John to make new harnesses instead of extending wires.
