5.3l cam question
First off I'd like to thank all the people here at LS1Tech. I have learned alot while building my 69' Camaro and gathered much mire info for future use.
dumI am currently building a 5.3l engine that I pulled from a 02' silverado. Engine I being converted to a carburetor sys and is all stock. My question is what exactly do I need for a cam swap? Do I need to swap lifters and gasgets also? I already have the cam, springs, and rods. I was told that was all I was going to need for the swap for this specific cam, but now I'm wondering if I'm going to need lifters also. Here are the specs of all the stuff that I've bought so far. Thank you guys.
• LS1 Hot camdum
Specs are 218/228 .525.525dum
on a 112 lsa.
• GM performance ls1 yellow honeycomb springs.
PN:12499224 90LBS@ 1.8in., 295LBS @ 1.250in., .570in Max Lift.
• Trick Flow Rodsdum
PN:TFS-21407425. 5/16in Diameter, 7.425in length

Cam, springs and PRs (if the length changed) are required
Lifters, gaskets, oil pump, timing chain, sprockets, gaskets are on an as-needed basis. If your engine has been around the block a few times, it would be a good idea to replace some/most of those. Keep in mind, to replace the lifters you have to pull the heads so add atleast $100 more for bolts/head gaskets
