Flex Fuel E85 Question
I got a 1994 S10 Im doin a L59 5.3 swap to. Can I run the stock 2.2L pump or do I have to swap the pump out to an E85 compatible pump? Or are they all compatible? With gas prices on the rise I plan on running E85 later on and want to make sure the pump will continue to work. I can get the pump out of the donor Suburban. Should I do that?

I would do some calculations on the stock fuel pump and see what type of volume it delivers at 58 PSI. Since it came from a 4 cylinder, I doubt it has the volume - if it has the pressure.
I'm not sure you thought about this but E-85 is 15% gas and 85% ethanol which means you are going to need a lot more fuel than a 100% gas engine. Your fuel pump and injectors need to be able to handle the extra volume while your tune will have to be adjusted accordingly.
If it were mine I would raise the compression to take advantage of e-85 either with a supercharger, turbo or the old fashioned way by swapping pistons.

You should be OK injector wise as the L59 is a Flex-fuel motor and has the larger injectors already. GM put 35 lbs. injectors in the 5.3 (L59) instead of 24 lbs. in the regular 5.3 (LM7)
But you will need a larger pump.
